I heart Paisley

So much for using fabric from my stash as I found this silk paisley thrifting at my local church sale.  

I added the rose pink lace from the Project Runway collection that is now in the clearance bins at my local fabric stores.

I made a simply A-line pattern & used a McCall's pattern for the sleeves.

Not so good with the remote on my new dslr Pentax K-r camera!

I found this adorable scissor ring at a boutique near where my middle daughter works!  The matching earrings will be shown soon.

I just love pink paisley!

sometimes you can't make it work

as with this Butterick 5602 view A, pattern.

I had this psychedelic paisley cotton in my stash now for a couple of years & have made sachets with them & thought how lovely a dress would look.

  I also had this tangerine satin crepe that I thought would be fun for the lining.  The black contrast was Ponte de Roma knit so there is total mix of fabrics being used.  I am really trying to use the fabric I already own.  There was quite a bit of hand sewing & the bow pattern instructions did not make any sense to me.

I have used this pattern before to make View C of this dress (chambray denim) which turned out O.K.  Now that I have made 2 dresses I realize that some patterns are not for your body type.....this being one of them.

I have moved on though, continuing with my love for paisley with this pink Silk paisley that I thrifted & am making it work.....into a dress, of course!

belle peasant dress....

I have been reading some old books & watching old movies lately & feeling whimsical so I made this dress.

I used McCall's 5050 pattern view E but made it a dress by adding 4 inches.  A little too short so I added the lace hem.

The raglan bell sleeves in this pattern is what caught my eye in the pattern $1.99 markdown bin.

This was supposed to be my toile using this inexpensive unknown fibers fabric, as I thought the pattern was complicated, but it was way easy!  

So now I can make this dress in some Silk fabric I have been coveting at the fabric store.
