Project Runway 2694

I have had this Project Runway Simplicity 2694 pattern since I first started to sew & I thought it was about time to make it up.

I used this soft modern cotton fabric that I also bought 2 years ago.....its amazing how much fabric stash I have being a nouveau seamstress!

The pattern was easy to follow & the only changes I made were not to line the bodice as this cotton was thick (also a little lazy), I added an extra line of gathering at the back as it was too big.  According to my measurements I was a size 14 in the bodice but I cut a 12 & it was still gaping in the back.  I cut a 10 for the skirt.  The side zipper is kinda of cool too....seems to give me better support in the bodice.

I also used my serger for the hem & left it at that.   I really like the fit of this pattern & will def be making more halter dresses!

P.S.  I have joined a sewing site that I now feel better qualified to submit...... Pattern Review.... & this is my first review!

Sew you later!

What a great summer dress. Don't know if you're having a heat wave like us over the weekend, but that dress sure looked like the thing to wear. I loved the pattern and design of the material. Is it as hard for you to be down to one kid at home as it is for me?

I'm so glad that you posted this. I'm getting ready to start trying my hand at sewing clothes and this dress is super cute! Seeing that you rated it as easy and the fact that you'd sew it again, I might have to consider this one for myself. This was very helpful! Thanks :)
