Mayan Riviera little black dress....

I finished my little black dress for Mexico just in time............I wanted a backless type of dress so this is a combination of a McCall's pattern (I don't want to say which one as it looks nothing like it) & my own design......

the front bodice is a simple cowl with an built in bandeau bra.......

the back part I made a mistake but covered it up by sewing a bustle......it is hard to take pictures of the black silk jersey fabric.......this fabric is great as it can be crammed into a suitcase & looks great when you arrive at your destination........my made by me crochet fringe bag was the inspiration for this dress......

Sew you later!

Simply stunning! Black silk jersey is the perfect choice for such a glamourous dress. I still am in awe of your bag.

How do you just keep coming up with such winners?! The bag goes prefect with that dress. I love the fact that it will come out of the suitcase looking just as good as when it went in. Have fun!

Aww, this dress is cute. I am also doing some dresses for myself using African fibrics but I can't sew, just sketching and take to the tailor. Am starting the sewing course on january. Hope we will share some ideas especially now that we follow each other. BTW, thank you for following my blog, I now follow yours.
